Tourism in Bali

Trash Arrive, Stay In Kuta yearning

executive summary by Darmansjah
The rain subsided after two hours flushed around Kuta Beach, Badung regency, Bali, Sunday (10 / 4) at 16.00 pm. Suddenly, dozens of tourists, traders, and the janitor went back scattering packed and cheering after shelter. Although since the morning was overcast until the sun barely visible sunset, Kuta Beach is still crowded.

That's Kuta Beach. The beach is never missing from the list of tourist arrivals from any country. Although the scenery was disrupted by a wide range of large and small trash, Kuta is still revered. Feeling guilty when touring the island without enjoying Kuta.

Especially when the waves of Kuta Beach was nice. Well, they are clever and can surf, of course, can not remain silent. When it rained yesterday, dozens of foreign tourists even closer to the waves roll in rather than take shelter and wait for calm. They exult with a board and roll waves. Very exiting....

Monkey Made (32), surf instructor, judge Kuta has a special attraction compared to other beaches in Bali, such as Sanur Beach, Candi Dasa Beach and Lovina Beach.

Similarly, Nyoman Corn (65), felt the tourists never come out for nearly 30 years he had roasted corn traded under the hibiscus tree at Kuta Beach. Along the way he continues to also maintain the cleanliness of the beach. Without the burden of the rubbish he tells it, who come every year in December to February.

"But, tiyang (I) do not know why this year's trash really keep coming. Whereas in March was over ...," he said, his hands flipping through some corn fuel.

Rice stall owner at the seaside from Jombang (East Java), Bu Eko (60), also said something similar. In fact, they always call it junk mail, though no idea where it came from.

For years, Mrs. Eko participate clean up the garbage in mutual cooperation. However, he wondered why the last few days many people notice. Scraper vehicles, trucks, tractors bergarpu width, pacing all day.

"Mr. regent (Badung) also took time to come. Well, he said, today there are also pack of ministers (Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik) want to come. Everything had been asked to continue to clean up, "he said.

So the world spotlight

Since a few days ago, Kuta Beach so the spotlight of various circles, especially the local government and a number of media. Because of the preaching of Time magazine titled "Holidays in Hell: Bali's Ongoing Woes" 1st issue April. In the news of his offending, among others, strewn garbage to pile up in the disturbing beauty of Kuta Beach Bali tourism faces. Yet the criticism also often asked the local media. For some reason, only now after the news of Time, governments such as fire beard.

However, whatever the criticism spiciness, Kuta Beach is still visited by thousands of tourists from various countries and cities every day. Highway in front of the beach was always jammed because of passing vehicles that would compete with vehicles parking. They still make Kuta, a tourist attraction which must be visited especially for first-time traveler to Bali. Force officers and Balawista Kuta Beach Badung always on alert, especially those keeping was swimming and surfing.

Chief Officers Unit IGN Tresna Kuta Beach, claimed never to tired to clean it every day during the season of garbage. However, he felt helpless when it came to mounting the equivalent of 200 trucks!

"We still feel lucky because not alone. There are still people, merchants, and visitors are always willing to help. There are also two private companies to donate a tractor fork width is in place in Kuta Beach, "he said.

Now, he felt relieved, because the Government of Badung Regency are willing to mobilize tens of garbage trucks for 24 hours. So, for him, the visitor should not have to worry about the garbage problems. He also advised that visitors do not forget to participate to maintain awareness of beach cleanliness.

Introspection

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika remain calm and cool-looking to respond to such criticism. He also asserted it is a fact! He then invited all parties, especially the actors of tourism for introspection.

Kuta began tourists crowded around the 1980's, after the thorny pandan plants which cover until the coast was cleared. Travellers and traders began to continue to arrive until today. Kuta Beach was a favorite and worldwide.

Center for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency Region III, Denpasar, predicted westerly winds blowing still going to end next May. Yes, this marks the waste is also likely to come during that time.

But, that is Kuta. Kuta is always desirable even if garbage comes not invited. (Ayu Sulistyowati)
