Soon, it will be 10 years since the bombings here on Bali. We Balinese are looking to the future – we have an ability to forgive and to be tolerant. I think our faith is getting stronger. These days people are working longer, there is more pressure in everyday life and the way to solve many of these issues is the spiritual way. Here you see me making an offering at a shrine. Balinese Hindus do this every day, placing flowers, candy and fruit to ask the gods for help with any matters they may request. Sometimes we think of our ancestors when we do this – we believe that if we remember our ancestors, our descendants will remember us too. Discover more at lonelyplanet.com/Indonesia/bali
